DON'T BE PUSHING...SHE'S MY LITTLE SISTER!

Wendell and Cara Lynn were about this age when she got to go on the bus (their daddy 's bus) and visit school for Friday before Easter.  The school had a wonderful first grade teacher, Mrs. Bethel Lee. She was a member of the church and knew our kids well.  Every year the little ones who would start the next year, would be invited to school to spend the day and have the Easter egg hunt with 1st graders.

The bus that Bobby drove was a 48 passenger and he had 70 by the time they got to school and about 15 of them had to stand in the aisle of the bus.  Wendell was the next to last to be picked up.  When they got on they were at the front of the line and the kids were restless.  Wendell ( a second grader)  told them: "Y'all don't be pushing.  My little sister is up here!"  Cara Lynn told me about it when she got a little older.  A gem of a memory!

This reminds me a lot of the Christians' older brother, Jesus.  If we are faithful to Him, I think He keeps Satan from 'pushing' us to the point of being tempted to the point of falling away, and from harming us against our will.   "...Don't be pushing! That's my sister/brother!"

Luke 4: 33-37  And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

No, we don't have unclean spirits invading and taking over today, against our will. ( the demons can do nothing without us allowing them to lead us away.)   God is fair...and when Jesus isn't here in Person, neither are the demons here in person.

¶ In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.     Zechariah 13: 1-2
