Daniel and little Levi
My name is Daniel Ingram and I am a baseball player. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I think about is baseball. My entire day revolves around baseball and how I can be a better player in the future. Everything that comes out of my mouth and all my actions scream out that I am a baseball player. I can’t take all the credit, this kind of attitude and commitment has been passed down to me.
My father and his father before him were both baseball players. They have showed me that there is nothing more important than baseball and it should be number one priority in my life. Nothing gets in the way of me practicing baseball. My wife realizes that this is important to me and she not only supports me in this but she is also caught on fire with love for this special game.
I know that by my commitment and my desire to be a great baseball player, my children will catch on to what is truly important and have a desire to pursue this great sport. I know that because of my hard work and dedication that I will be able to achieve my goal of playing professional baseball. Knowing the time and energy that I have put into baseball, going professional will be a dream come true. Then, I will finally have the product of my heart’s desire.
My name is Daniel Ingram and I am a Christian. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I think about is Christ. My entire day revolves around Christ and how I can better serve in His kingdom. Everything that comes out of my mouth and all my actions scream out that I am a Christian. I can’t take all of the credit, this kind of attitude and commitment has been passed down to me.
My father and his father before him are both faithful Christians. They have shown me that there is nothing more important than Christ and He should be the number one priority in my life. Nothing gets in the way of me drawing closer to Jesus. My wife realizes that He is important to me and she not only supports and uplifts me in this, but she is also on fire with love for Christ and God.
I know that by my commitment and my desire to be a faithful Christian, my children will catch on to what is truly important and have a desire to pursue a Savior who loves them. I know because of His commitment and faithfulness that I will be able to achieve my goal of heaven. Knowing the pain and suffering that He endured on the cross, I turn my heart to him daily so that heaven will be a promise fulfilled. Then, I will finally have the product of my heart’s desire.
In our lives what do we treasure? It may not be baseball; it may be work, money, a hobby, fame, recognition, or even sin. The thing about it is, people can see where our hearts are. Usually the things that you talk about, how you spend your time, what you teach your kids, the things that you are committed to; truly tell where your heart is pointed.
In Matthew 10:17, a rich young ruler comes to Jesus and asked what must I do to inherit eternal life. Jesus answers his question by telling him to obey the law. Then Jesus tells him there is one thing that he lacks, and he tells him to go sell all of his possessions and follow Him. At this the young man goes away sad because he was very rich. It was the man’s actions that truly stated what his heart was focused on.
I need to make sure that my heart is turned to Christ. I need to make sure that my actions and my commitment is turned to Christ. I need to make sure that my family sees where my heart is pointed. I need to make sure the world sees where my heart is pointed. I am promised that I will have the product of my heart’s desire. The questions I need to ask myself daily “Where is my heart”, and “What am I truly telling the World”?
